Kenyan Purple Tea (2 oz loose leaf)

Purple Tea is produced from a clonal varietal of Camellia sinensis. The cultivar was developed with extra high levels of anthocyanidins (primarily delphinidin, cyanidin, pelargonidin, peonidin, and malvidin), which are special antioxidants used medicinally, and as preservatives. Anthocyananins are the pigments responsible for the red, purple and blue in many edible plants, and in this case produce the distinctive reddish-purple of the leaves on the bush. Aside from the positive impact on health that may lead tea drinkers to explore this new tea, it also provides a unique taste experience.

This unique purple tea is from a single estate in Kenya. Not only does a little go a long way but even when I tried to oversteep the tea, it never became bitter.

2 oz loose leaf in a resealable pouch

Ingredients:  100% Purple Tea.  Caffeine Content: Medium to bold

Steep this tea at 175F for 3 minutes.
